WORDS TO LIVE BY
by Theodore Roosevelt
Theodore Roosevelt gave us these immortal words in a speech at the Sorbonne in Paris in 1910. I believe that he intended them for every person who would dare to call himself or herself a leader. I believe that he intended them for every person who falls into the trap of self-pity. I believe that he intended them for every person who has been victimized by the Fellowship of the Miserable. I wish I could look him in the eye and thank him for the myriad times the power of his rhetoric has lifted me out of a cesspool of self-doubt.
