Jeff Battcher

CEO - Battcher Communications, LLC

As the communications expert of Curry, Wellborn & Battcher, Jeff Battcher brings an extraordinary combination of experience in both the sports and the communications industries. After earning multiple letters as a quarterback and pitcher at the University of Utah, Jeff spent seven years as the sports director and anchor at WGXA-TV in Macon, Georgia. Jeff also founded Macon's first full-service sports marketing firm - Battcher Sports Marketing - at which he devised and implemented advertising, public relations, and marketing programs for area colleges and businesses.

As world attention turned to Atlanta as the 1996 Summer Olympic Games approached, Jeff was tasked by BellSouth Mobility to manage key aspects of its Olympic sponsorship. After spectacular success on this project, Jeff quickly rose through the corporate ranks at BellSouth Corporation, ultimately serving as the Vice President responsible for all of the company's worldwide communications of all types and reporting directly to the CEO and Chairman of the Board.

In 2007, when Delta Air Lines faced the most trying and pivotal time in company history as it fought back from bankruptcy, Jeff was recruited by Delta's CEO to direct its Global Corporate Communications. Jeff was responsible for all worldwide media and crisis communications, and he played a pivotal role in Delta's phoenix-like reemergence.

Jeff's last stop prior to the founding of Battcher Communications was at Level 3 Communications, a multinational telecommunications and bandwidth provider through whose fiber optic network flows one-third of all worldwide Internet traffic. As the Senior Vice-President of Corporate Communications for Level 3, Jeff's strategies resulted in a meteoric increase in both positive media mentions and revenue streams for the company.

At the helm of Battcher Communications, Jeff is consulted regularly by the CEOs and Boards of Directors of Fortune 500 companies, as well as the leading public relations, advertising, and marketing firms in the world. Jeff continues to apply the relationship-driven approach to strategic communications that served him so well at BellSouth, Delta, and Level 3.

Pete Wellborn

Managing Attorney - Wellborn & Wallace, LLC

Attorney Pete Wellborn oversees all legal advice and services to Curry, Wellborn & Battcher's clients and also contributes to all creative aspects of Curry, Wellborn & Battcher's programs and services, including co-authorship of "A Coach's Guide to Sanity and Survival" and the course book for Bill Curry's "Wonder of You" program. Pete is the founding member of Wellborn & Wallace, LLC (the "Firm") and is one of the most well-known attorneys in the United States. Pete's law practice and legal victories have received worldwide publicity, including cover stories in the Wall Street Journal and Boardwatch magazine.

Pete's honors include being named one of ten national "Attorneys of the Year" by Lawyers Weekly, being inducted in 2012 as a Fellow by the Litigation Counsel of America, and being awarded an "AV" Rating by Martindale Hubbell, the highest possible mark for Legal Ability & Ethics. Prior to establishing the Firm in 2001, Pete led Arnall, Golden & Gregory's Technology Law practice, where he was one of the youngest big-firm department heads in Georgia history.

With a degree in Information & Computer Science from Georgia Tech (where he played quarterback and linebacker for head coach Bill Curry) and a practice focus that, for more than 15 years, has included Internet & Technology Law, Pete brings a unique and valuable perspective to all legal issues that touch in any way upon social media or the Internet. Moreover, Pete has a wealth of hands-on experience in media relations and communications - as his client EarthLink grew throughout the late 1990's and the 2000's to become a worldwide ISP, Pete both quarterbacked that company's litigation and assisted in developing media strategies while serving as the company's primary legal spokesperson.

Pete's practice has included a broad array of Sports & Entertainment Law matters, including the representation of professional athletes and coaches and the handling of a wide variety of technology and IP-related issues touching upon the sports and entertainment industries. Pete's clients include Athletes Performance ("AP"), the top human performance training facility in the world, and its founder Mark Verstegen, whom Pete assisted in all aspects of the genesis and growth of AP.
